Christian held positions at UBS, Paribas Asia Equity, W.I. Carr Far East Limited and Yamaichi Bank (Switzerland) with almost 30 years of Asian equity experience before co-founding B&I Capital. Christian was involved in many of the first transactions in the Asian REIT market as an Asian Real Estate specialist at UBS. Currently, Christian is responsible for running B&I Capital’s Singapore research office. Christian Bernasconi graduated with BA in Political Economy of Industrial Societies from UC Berkeley. He also holds a rotating board membership with Charles Isaac.

Charles Isaac, CFA, is one of the founding partners and a 50% shareholder in B&I Capital. He also holds a rotating board membership with Christian Bernasconi. He runs the Zurich office and is co-fund manager. He has over 25 years of direct equity experience and has been a fund manager since 1999. Charles is a Chartered Financial Analyst, holds an MSc in Investment Management from City University Business School, a BA in Psychology from Newcastle University and attended Oundle School.

Sanjay Jhaveri is an experienced buyside analyst covering US REITs with more than 30 years industry experience. He focuses on bottom-up fundamental analysis to discover long-term opportunities. Sanjay is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds an MBA. Sanjay joined B&I Capital in 2015.

Andre von Rohr covers Europe, Canada, and the self-storage and industrial sector in the US as a Senior Analyst. He previously worked for seven years as sell-side analyst at UBS covering Swiss real estate and small and midcap stocks. He holds a Bachelor in Economics and a Master in Banking and Finance from the University of St. Gallen.

Matthew Schmidt has more than 20 years of analyst and sales experience in Asian and Japanese equities. Matthew holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and has been with B&I Capital since 2010.

Tian Li has been with B&I Capital since November 2015 covering the Japanese REIT market. Prior joining B&I Capital, he was a design engineer with Xilinx Asia Pacific for 6 years before obtaining a MSc in Wealth Management from the Singapore Management University and starting his career in asset management. Tian Li is an FRM and CAIA Charterholder, and also has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California and a MSc in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Tyler Lyons is a US analyst covering the residential, office, gaming, healthcare, and timber sectors. Tyler began working for B&I Capital as an intern while studying real estate finance at the University of Texas. Previously, Tyler served for 8 years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps and ultimately attained the rank of Major. Tyler holds an MBA from the University of Texas and a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University. Tyler is also on the Fund Investment Committee of the McCombs Real Estate Investment Fund at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin.

Aditya Bapna joined B&I Capital as US REIT Analyst in 2023, after earning his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT, he helped oversee a $22M public equity portfolio as a portfolio manager for the student-run MBA Investment Fund. Prior to his career in finance, Aditya worked as an engineer for some of the world’s top semiconductor fabs in New York and Texas. 

Desmond Lim has over 10 years of trading experience in Asia. Prior to joining B&I Capital, he worked in both the asset management business and investment banks, leading trading teams specializing in the Japanese and Hong Kong/China markets. At B&I Capital, Desmond manages all the trading and execution in Asia Pacific. His personal interests include Dark Pools and algorithm trading. He holds a BA degree in Economics from Wesleyan University.

Manuel Zahn manages US & European executions, including FX-hedging and portfolio reconciliation. He joined B&I Capital in 2015 as a member of the Middle Office team and has continuously deepened his knowledge in asset management ever since. Following a banking apprenticeship at one of Switzerland’s leading global banks, Manuel held various positions within operations since 2006, mainly for equity and structured products. In 2015, he expanded his resume with a Professional Bachelor ODEC in BA.

Patrick joined B&I Capital in March 2024 as Head of Business Development and Investor Relations. He is a Certified European Financial Analyst and a Certified ESG Analyst. Patrick held various roles in the financial industry over the past 20 years, such as Head of European Equities at Credit Suisse Asset Management, Head of Investor Relations of Credit Suisse Switzerland, Head of Funds & Partnerships at Falcon Private Bank and Chief Investment Officer of Kaleido Privatbank. 

Owen is B&I Capital’s Head of Business Development and Investor Relations for the Asia region. Prior to joining B&I Capital, Owen was with S&P Global for 16 years, most recently as the head of Client Retention Management Asia Pacific. Owen began his career in the asset management industry, working with Citigroup, Credit Suisse, and Vontobel. Owen holds MBAs from both the National University of Singapore and UCLA Anderson School of Management, and completed his undergraduate degree at Connecticut College. Owen is an avid golfer, photographer, and amateur baseball player in his free time.

Caspar joined B&I Capital in April 2021 as Chief Operating Officer. Caspar is a Swiss Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Banking & Finance from University of Zurich. He has over 15 years of experience in the asset management industry from his previous positions at ARDIAN, EIC Partners and AIG Fund Management as well as from his time as a financial and regulatory auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Marion holds a master in European law and economics from the university of Stockholm as well as a master’s in economics (Diplomökonomin Univ.) from the university of Augsburg. She has over 15 years’ experience working in legal departments for the financial industry.

Marios joined B&I Capital in March 2021 in the role of Chief Risk Officer. Marios holds a PhD from ETH Zürich in Physics. He has several years of working experience in Structured Products and FX Trading. In his previous role, Marios participated in the launch and business development of a Smart Hedging Issuance Platform for automated trading of Structured Products and Exotic Options. In addition, he acted as the Operational Risk delegate for the Markets & Trading division. In the past he worked as FX Portfolio Manager where he managed the FX Option portfolios for G10 and EM. Moreover, he worked in Data Management / Trading Analytics and in visualization tools for monitoring the trading activity, statistics and reporting.

Aldo Tobler joined B&I Capital in 2018 after completing his BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering at ETH Zurich. His master thesis was awarded the Electrosuisse ETH Student Prize on the merit of its novel analytical methods. His tasks involve the development of automation tools for Back Office processes and Front Office analyses. Concurrently, he oversees the operation and improvement of B&I Capital’s information technology infrastructure.

Over the past 25 + years, Peter Hirt has worked for Asset Management and Fund Management Companies in the operational area. He was able to gain a lot of experience in these years. He joined B&I Capital AG in 2013. Since then Peter Hirt is working in the back and middle office and is responsible for the operative compliance.

Andrea Jabornik joined B&I Capital in February 2023 as Middle Office & Operations Officer. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and European Studies from the Metropolitan University of Prague. Andrea actively traded electrical power in various European energy markets near the start of her career. Afterwards, she gained experience as paralegal at a leading global specialist in alternative investing. The last 4 years before joining B&I Capital, Andrea was the head of the electricity, gas, water and district heating settlement department in a Swiss municipal utility.

Cassandra Yan has over twenty years of broad-based experience in asset management, stockbroking, private banking, financial advisory and insurance broking. In the last ten years, Cassandra headed up the compliance function of a Singapore fund manager and the Singapore entities of a global insurance broker.
